Meet Our Tribal Liasion, Andrew Alejandre
Andrew “Dru” Alejandre is a member of the Paskenta Band of Nomlaki Indians, located in the greater Northern California. In September 2016, he was elected Chairman of his tribe following in the footsteps of his Grandfather Everett Freeman, serving two 4-year terms. Prior to being elected Chairman, he served 2 years as Tribal Secretary appointed in April 2014. During his time in office, Andrew fulfilled his promise, leading his people with purpose by developing a strong economy through business oversight and development, creating resources and opportunities for tribal members and the surrounding communities. He left behind a solid foundation for all and future generations just as his grandfather did. Andrew is a passionate leader who not only has served his tribe but serves all Indigenous and Tribal communities in Indian Country. Through MMIP, the Native American Graduation Adornments Task Force, and the Central Tribal Chairperson’s Association, Andrew has been a strong advocate and voice for the people. He is also the Co-Founder and Vice Chairman of the Tribal Leadership Council, a non-profit organization that empowers current, aspiring, and future generational Tribal leaders and executives by providing education opportunities that will create sustainability for future generations.
